~~Slip~~

Slipping slowly in the middle.
Slipping down the path.
Sliding through the edge.
Sliding down the world.

Wait, hold on--
There's a edge to catch.
A way to stop the slide.
Do you want to stop?

It feels so good to break.
So good to shiver and slip....
But don't..don't let it.
Don't let it overtake you.

  1. Wow, Alexandra. The first stanza really did it for me. I like the repetition: slipping / slipping, sliding / sliding. It made me think of the (many) slopes I've been on, how easy it is to start that slide, how I think I'm always in control--until I'm not.

I found you on Angela Tague's blog, thought I'd stop over and share the A-Z love :) You're going to have a blast! Maybe you want to join the A Hop Within A Hop: The A-Z Theme Reveal!

    1. Thank you! I try to show as many honest emotions as I can in my poems. I'm glad people can relate to them, and can understand how it feels to suddenly realize you aren't in control.

I'll join up the Hop Within a Hop happily! I know you'll do well, too :)
