~~HER: Chapter Two--Loss~~

--Jamie’s POV--
I wept, frozen there, Her surrounding me, laughing in my ear, watching me. She torments me with Her voice, Her touch, Her laugh. I can't control this...! I can't escape from Her....I try to force myself to move, to run, to escape. But I can't leave Her.

Soft hair brushes against my cheek when She leans against me, breathing softly, Her body cold as night. "Leave me...."I beg. "Let me go...."

She laughs, whispering, "Never....I told you we were forever...."

I trembled, and finally escape from Her, bolting away. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" I cry, bolting away, howling. Families turn to me, startled into silence, thinking me mad as I sprint towards them, among them, away from them. I give them no glances, just keep running right on through.

And I feel Her come after me, hear their gasps and cries as they sense Her move among them, through them, changing them and freezing them cold.

I just keep running.

But I can't escape Her.

I never can.

She waits until I reach the privacy of the outskirts of the park to come to me, resting Her hand upon my shoulder, whispering in my ear. "You know you won't ever escape me, lover....You killed me...."

"I never was your lover....Logan was! Why must you torture me so...?"

"Because it was always you I wanted...." She murmurs into my ear, pressing up against me again. I shiver at the cold of Her, but I warm at Her touch. Why must She do this to me...? How can She control me so?

I break away from Her again.

I hear Her laugh behind me: "You may run from me, Jamie dear. I will go and visit Logan...."

I halt in my tracks, and yell, "No! Stay with me!"

Better me than him....

She laughs, but it fades into silence, and I no longer smell Her sweet scent, no longer sense Her nearby.

I fall to my knees, and pray.

--Logan's POV--

How could I leave him behind?

I punch a wall, pulling my fist away and eyeing the blood. My eyes darken--why wasn't I bleeding more? I had left him behind! Jamie....My best friend! I had abandoned him to torture, to hell! Only because I wasn't strong enough to face the torture I was putting him through....The torture I caused! If it wasn't for me being a cold bastard who can never love....If it wasn't for me being drunk that night, I never would have gotten mad at Her, never would have followed Her up the stairs, never would have pushed Her from the balcony....

And then I feel Her.

Sense Her near me.

I smell Her skin, Her hair, and I feel Her hand on my shoulder. I tremble, filled with guilt and fear. Let the torture begin....I deserve this.

I feel Her press up against my back, and I hear Her voice, hauntingly familiar, in my ear: "Hello, Logan...."

I scream.

She only laughs, and I feel Her slip around me, stand in front of me, sling Her arms around my neck.

"I love you," She whispers, before She kisses me, "And I won't ever leave you...."

I shudder, but I kiss Her back. "I'm sorry for what I did to you...."

She pulls back, and even though I can't see Her I sense Her smile. "Don't be, love. I don't blame you....I just want to be with you...."

I gently push Her away, my hands freezing. I walk to the window, and gaze out. I feel Her touch my shoulder gently, but I don't turn to face Her. "I lost you..." I whisper, watching the world go by. My hand drips blood onto the wooden floor, and I lower my forehead to the glass so I can watch the blood fall.

I sigh, and I don't speak again.

She doesn't touch me.

Instead, I sense Her step away from me, and feel Her eyes focus on me. She doesn't say a word.

But, then, I feel Her slowly fade away, Her voice murmuring as if from a million miles away: "You never lost me....I won't ever leave you."

And then, in an instant, She is gone.

I fall to my knees, but whether in relief or grief I do not know.

I cover my face with my hands, and burst into sobs.

"I love you...." I whisper.

I felt so weak, so cold. My eyes stayed locked open, even though the tears fell fast and hard, like rain. Like blood-red rain on the purest white snow. I gasped and groaned, fighting to breathe, but I couldn’t halt the unending flow of tears. Why did I feel so weak? It was just….It was just Her.

All the things we had done, all the memories, everything ran to my mind. I felt the memories consume me, flood me, horrific desire and tempting pain.

Oh god…..Oh god….

But a part of me knew—oh, how it knew!—that God had nothing to do with this. That He was not responsible for the love, for the desire, for the insane mad lust, that flowed within my veins whenever She was near. My Goddess. My false, fallen, broken, shattered, beautiful Goddess. Who I had adored, worshiped, loved, needed, craved….

Craved, and killed.

I thought back to when we had first met—the playground, grade five. Jamie had been climbing the tree, and he had spotted Her, higher than he could ever have even attempted to reach. She was small, dressed in long socks and black shorts, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adorning Her skinny, skinny torso. He yelped in surprise at seeing her, and fell down, down, down….

And what was I supposed to do? I fell with him, reaching out in an attempt to catch him. We lost sight of Her in the scuffle that followed, and we didn’t see Her again for a long time.

But we spoke of Her enough to make it seem that She was always with us. We were obsessed with Her, and we did not know why we were.

I closed my eyes again, trying to force away the memories, but I knew it was useless. I knew it was hopeless.

She was with me, until the day I died….

And maybe even beyond.
--Her POV—

Such foolish boys! I laugh, staring at the images of them in wonder. Poor Logan, lost his mind, his body flooded with my memory—sex the only thing on his mind. And poor Jamie—what life could he have with me constantly so close?

Oh how delightful this was! Oh how easy they were to torture….A quick kiss on their cheek to send their heartbeats racing, a quick run kiss on the neck to make them beg….

And tada. They were mine. Driven mad by desire.

It was almost pathetically easy, but I delighted in it. I knew it was time to stop the games, and move them into checkmate. I had been toying with Jamie for so long now….

It was time to give the others a turn.

~~HER: Chapter One--Haunted~~

NOTE--This story debuted on my Quizilla page, and went on to be posted on Normal Ain't Normal. I apologize for reposting, but rehosting it here just feels easier.

--Jamie’s POV--
I walked alone, listening to Unintended, daydreaming of Her. I could feel Her touch, hear Her voice, hear Her laugh. I could sense Her beside me, touching me, Her gentle laugh like a song to my ear. I smell the sweet perfume of Her skin, feel Her breath tickle my skin, tremble when She nestles Her face into my neck.

My gaze is drawn upwards, to the dimly shining sunlight broken by the network of branches, a net of night to catch the sun. I inhale the gentle scent of the wild: The perfume of the dew-wet grass, the musk of animals, and the soft scent of the trees. It soothed me, whisking away the scent of Her, gently washing away my agony. I paused, feeling the sensations: The gentle breath of the wind, the coolness of the shade, the idle warmth of the sun. I sigh, breathing deep, for once free.

But then I feel Her press up against me, feel Her breath warm my skin, feel Her tongue tickle my neck, feel Her lips kiss and wander the tender skin of my throat. I gasp, and murmur, "Oh, angel....Why do you torture me so?"

She laughs, and murmurs into my ear, soft as a dream, "Because you killed me...."

I force out a choking sigh, and She laughs once more, "But I didn't kill you...."

She whispers back, Her voice soothing and tempting, "Because I haunt you....Like you haunted me...."

"But....I didn't kill you...." I say again, trembling at Her touch.

"You have my blood on your hands...." She whispers, Her hand taking mine and raising it so Her eyes can gaze at the red upon it. I pull my hand away, and She slips around me, so She can gaze into my eyes. "You killed me...." She says again, "You have my blood upon your hands...."

I break into a sprint, running straight through Her, gasping at the sudden shock of cold as It blasts through me.

As I burst through the trees and into the clearing, startling families and halting conversations with my screams, I hear Her laughing behind me....

Torturing me.

But then I feel Her hands take mine....Draw me back into the shelter of the trees....

I let Her.

As I lose myself in Her sweet torture, watching the families slowly return to their laughter and their games, I spy a single young man rise from his seat 'neath a tree, walk forwards, long-fingered hands slipping golden hair behind many-pierced ears.

As I hear Her laugh and as I tremble, I meet his all-too-familiar deep green eyes. He walks forward, his eyes wide, and I scarcely catch his murmuring voice on the breeze but I hear it nonetheless: "Jamie...?"

Her spell shatters, and She goes.

I fall to my knees, gasping for breath.

Logan runs to me, falling into a crouch beside me, grasping my shoulders. "Jamie, is that you?"

I fall into my old friend's arms, crying. "Logan...." I force out, and he hugs me carefully, gently.

"Jamie....What has life done to you?" he asks, pushing me to arm's length, regarding me with worried eyes.

I laugh, and regard him in turn. "Life has done nothing to me....You haven't changed."

He lapses into a frown. "Then what has changed you...? And just because my pretty face hasn't changed doesn't mean I haven't," he cracks a grin, trying to make me smile, "The last time we saw each other....You had Her blood on your hands, and I was all but dead. So I HAVE changed....I'm no longer bleeding out!"

He tries to smile again, but he fails.

We sit there, regarding each other, remembering. Struck by a sudden recollection, I say in a rush, "Do you remember when we climbed the tree that day--in grade five? I fell off the top branch, and you jumped after me, only to turn into a landing pad when we hit the ground."

He laughs. "How could I forget? You always were a twig--but I didn't know how much skinny bones can hurt until you stabbed me with your elbow."

I laugh with him, thinking back. "If I remember correctly, you cried and punched me."

He raises his eyebrows, smirking. "No....If my memory serves me rightly, it was you who cried when I punched you. And what could you have expected, young Jamie? You could've killed me with an elbow like that...."

I punch him on the arm, and he mimes a hurt expression, dropping his lower lip into an unhappy pout.

"Aw....Little Jamie thinks he can take me!"

I tackle him, and for a while we fight, wrestling, pinning each other like we had so many years ago. Logan, a young man who I hadn't seen in three years, a young man who I had once viewed as my brother, who I loved with everything I was. This young man and I fought as we had once fought, before....Before Her.

But then we stop, and roll away from each other, pulling each other to our feet, gasping.

Gasping at Her touch, and hearing Her mocking laugh.

Logan's eyes focused on mine, trembling, grasping my hand tightly. "Is it always like this...? Does She always...." He falls into silence, unable to speak as he trembles again.

"Torture me? Yes....Now that you're near me, She tortures you, too...." I reply, and his hand tightens on mine one last time before he whirls away, breaking free of my hand, leaving me behind.

Before he returns to the park, Logan turns to me one last time, and yells in farewell, "I'm the one who killed her! I'm the one....I pushed her from the balcony!"

He starts back towards me, as if regaining a sense of strength.

I look at him, and gesture for him to go. "But you're not the one She haunts...."

Logan's eyes meet mine one last time, only a hundred meters away but yet so far, before he nods in thanks
and goes, leaving me behind him forever with the girl he killed.

She laughs, calling, "Goodbye, Logan dear! I will see you again soon...."

I tremble, and watch him break into a desperate run, escaping from the dark world he had cast me into, leaving behind his greatest friend.

"Goodbye...." I murmur.

~~Hey, Hey, Hey!--Life Post~~

Hello, my beautiful darlings!

Have I mentioned lately I stiiiillllll have no idea why I call you people that?

But, I've always called my lovely readers a variety of nicknames...

Well, as you can tell, there's a lot of things happening here! I've been posting chapters of For Love of Minecraftia--going back on my vow to never post the god-awful thing. But now it is here, and now it will be here to stay.

As you can imagine, the fact that it is here means I HAVE NO HOPE FOR THE STORY. It has been declared 'unworthy of being edited, and unworthy of being treated as valuable'. So, uh, it kinda sucks....So I'm sorry about that one....

Um, in other news!

I'm going to be adding HER here, and I will end up finishing it, I swear!

So, expect A LOT of HER and For Love of Minecraftia to be posted today, as well as your usual mix of I'm-in-class-bored-so-here's-a-poem mess.

As can be expected of me, I'll be linking them all on The Bookshelf tab, so you can have an easier time reading them.

Oh, and in case you've missed the news panel, feel free to like me on Facebook. I will post teaser content, previews, and some Mansion updates--written by the Mansion members themselves. So, if you don't want to miss Mansion content (as it doesn't often appear here), I'd drop a like there. And, there will also be some of my drawings appearing there BEFORE they hit here. *Yes, I AM going to get some of them scanned and uploaded. The too-big-to-scan ones will be carefully photographed.*

Oh, one MORE thing! I'll be adding on to my Playlist, Reading List, and Anime List tab as well. So, have fun with it.

Am I going to be updating anything else today?

MAYBE the Mansion Images tab.....

Well, I'll also be needing to update my SUMMARY OF ME page, which has been taken down until it reaches its completion. That doesn't mean it will actually be updated. I know it really should be updated, but....I don't feel like it just yet.

So, what has been going on OUTSIDE of my blog?

Well, I've been living. I did well enough on my exams, and I'm beginning Semester Two of Grade Eleven. I've been working VERY hard on destroying my Reddit addiction, but now it has evolved into an e-book addiction as well as a webcomic addiction. This isn't working!

Now, if only I could get an addiction to working out....And eating healthier....

Then I could lose weight. Which I really want to. But I'm lazy.

Anyways, relationship-wise....I've been fine.

I broke up with a real-life boyfriend because he was my age, and he was vastly immature. I found him extremely young, foolish, and annoying. And so we broke up.

I also broke up with a lovely man. Simply because there..was no way it could work. If you're reading this, you know who you are. I'm sorry.

Naturally, that doesn't mean I'm exactly SINGLE. No, I'm currently with Shawn--who has been my closest friend for years, and who I love deeply. He is a very good man, but he has some issues in his life, and so I'm fighting to help him. I know I myself am 'damaged goods', and so I don't mind assisting another member of the walking wounded. He and I haven't met in person yet, but I desperately want to. We began dating on Christmas Day (ironically, the same day that would have been Ian's and my one year. I miss Ian. I wish things...hadn't happened this way) and we work together well. Unfortunately, we haven't met in person yet, but.....I really want to try....

Meanwhile, there are some friends who may-be-more-than-friends. I enjoy the company of Austin and Matt, but I don't think I could ever consider dating them. Well, if situations were different....

I love my men-folk. I love my half-mad assortment of darlings who look after me and help me. Who find me adorable and fun. I love them. I love being around them. I love laughing with them. I love how they make me feel.

I'm going to be just fine.

Believe in me, little blog. Believe in me, readers of my words.

Believe in me!

Now, to start posting more stories....

~~For Love of Minecraftia: Chapter Three--Pedo Bear Likes Grapes~~

“Grapes in the mouth make me happy down south….”

I blinked. What the hell did I hear? Whatever it was, it had woken me up…..Sighing, I decided it was time to go investigate the sound. I sat up, still with my eyes closed, when suddenly I realized something—there was no bundle of softness that landed in my lap. In shock, I opened my eyes wide, and what did I see but….

A soft red blanket. I turned my head around slowly, and spotted what my head lay on:  A pure white pillow.

My bed and pillow were black.

This was not my bed.

I looked all around my house.

This was definitely not my house either. And how did I know that? The answer was very, very simple…..I didn’t remember my house being made of blocks. Nor do I remember making the blue print for my house, or spending several days working on it to make it perfect.

But, there could be no doubt. This was my house in Minecraft.

Sighing, I stood up out of the bed, and wandered all around. I headed towards the makeshift dresser with a wooden slab functioning as a chair in front of it, and look in the “mirror” over it. Sure enough, I was made of pixels—my pajamas reduced to scattered blue pixels, and my shaggy black hair reduced to nothing more than a rather funny looking blob on top of an even odder-looking face. Hell, you could barely tell I was female….

Granted, could you before now? I had never been very…shaped. I never had the classic hourglass figure—or even my mother’s pear-shaped one. I had just been…straight up and down. Far, far too skinny to ever develop much of anything but A-cup boobs and a pea-sized butt. This is probably why I’m not one to ever join activities like swimming…..Or date….Or go outside with boys…..Or outside at all.

But this was no time for thinking such thoughts about my poor self-image. I had found myself in Minecraft, but not only that I had found myself woken up by a line from one of my favorite videos: L and the Best Quote of All Time. A quote that would forever live on in my head as one of the most messed up things I had ever found on YouTube, no matter what I searched for.

Being my usual paranoid self, I wandered out of my small bedroom, smiling at the familiar assortment of chests, bookshelves, and makeshift closets that covered the walls of my room. I was planning on heading to the basement to find my weapons chest when all I could hear was the next quote in the video: “Make you get a big boner what you gonna do?”

And what was extremely creepy was the fact that the voice was coming from the window right beside me.

Almost dreading what I would see, I slowly turned to the side, and what would I see but a brown furred bear looking at me with a large creepy smile….

I had never run harder in my life.

I didn’t run to my bedroom—of course not. Why? It was freaking Pedobear! He would rape me, and being in the bedroom only made it worse. So where did I go? To the basement, of course! I sprinted down into it, running as fast as I can, almost falling on the stairs. I ran to the chest in the far back corner, opening it with a desperate lift of my arms. I reached in and rooted around, finally managing to slide on my cheap leather armor, my bow, quiver, and sword carried on top of it. Just as I was about to turn around, I felt a very small tap on my hip.

I whirled around in a circle, sword out in lowered.

I will never forget the sound that came from hitting Pedobear with the sword…..

It was the sound of a child crying. Horrified, I focused my eyes on the bear as it fell over, bleeding and dying. Yep, it was a bear, and not a kid in a costume that I had almost chopped the head off of. Thank God….Maybe killing this thing would protect…someone from being raped by this horrific little fiend. I sighed, refusing to think about it as I watched the body simply poof into nothingness, just like all Minecraft corpses.

When all the blood was gone, I looked at my sword. The wooden sword was still useable, but it probably would not last long before it simply became trash for me to throw away. Deciding it would need to do for now, I put it back in my inventory—which I accessed through complicated methods and chants that I will not go into the details of explaining for the resulting text would last longer than the actual manuscript you now hold in your hands—and walked out of the basement, heading for the kitchen. I’d find some food first, and then I’d start work on figuring out where to go next for the duration of…however long I stayed here in Minecraftia.

As I wandered around the familiar confines of my beautiful home, I wondered how bad it would be if I stayed here, forever. It was certainly beautiful, and there was also the benefit of never needing to deal with people, homework, pollution, or general asshats. Here, a girl could be a girl—even if she was pixelated and completely lacked gender now. I could be free, and create endlessly. There would never be a lack for anything—I could live simply, spending my days browsing the bookshelves, or maybe working on paintings using dyes….

I reached the kitchen, and wandered over to the “sink.” It was made up of a water source block surrounded by glass and cobblestone. I reached into the perfectly clear depths, washing my hands carefully. I didn’t know if there were any harmful germs in Minecraft, but I wasn’t planning on finding out any time soon. Besides, like my mom always said: Better safe than sorry.

And I definitely did not want to risk being sorry in this situation. Who knew what this dream was? Who knew how long it would last? Either way, I wasn’t going to resist playing here for a while. There was a lot of things I wanted to do.

Grinning, I finished washing my hands, and moved to open the chest that functioned as a fridge. I grabbed a bucket of milk, some cooked fish, and a large loaf of bread. Figuring this would need to suffice until I found out what else around here could be eaten, I scampered rather cheerily down the hall, heading towards the dining room. Plopping myself down on the wooden “couch,” I set my things down on the table in front of me, eyeing the floating cake that stood near me. I grinned, deciding I’d definitely need to try a bit of that for dessert, if I was still hungry after this massive meal I was hopefully going to enjoy.

Eyeing the mess of food curiously, I decided I might as well start on eating the bread. I picked it up in my weird-shaped hands and managed to tear off a chunk. I stuffed it hungrily into my mouth, and felt my body fall soundly over.

It was the absolute best bread I had ever tasted in my entire life. It was lovely and soft and just perfectly crispy on the outside. I didn’t even care that I had no butter and the bread was soft—I just went all nom-tastic on it. It was incredible….

When my supply of bread had dwindled to none, I looked around at the assortment of food that still waited for me to eat it. I picked up the fish, and set about picking off the scales, trying to keep from getting grossed out. God, why didn’t Minecraft have any knives? No way was I going to use some of the little iron I had managed to gather and save up to make a knife….

About ten minutes later, the fish was cleaned, and I started to pick at it, feeling curious about the taste. I decided it actually wasn’t half bad in the least, delighting in the delicious differences in texture that came with the fish. When it was done and the bones and scales—among other really gross things—lay on the table, I sat back, picking up the large bucket of milk. I gratefully picked it up, tipped it to my mouth, and….promptly spilled it all down myself.

Well….At least I didn’t have any “clothes” that needed to be cleaned, right? But, I was still wet….And I suddenly realized that towels were definitely not something in Minecraft.

Groaning, I put the bucket back down on the table, careful of the remaining two thirds of milk. I headed up the stairs, on my way to my room. Once there, I stopped dead in my tracks, staring all around in pure and utter confusion.

There were clothes now, folded neatly, on each shelf of the closets. Grinning, I walked over to them, and got myself dressed. Smiling, I eyed the clothes. They actually were not pixels—they looked like some of my normal, real-life clothes.

That’s when I noticed something weird.

My body had become me again.

Unable to contain my grin, I scampered over to the mirror and started playing with my hair—one of the few girly habits of mine that I definitely could not contain, but would be humiliated if anyone ever found out. I eyed myself appreciatively, spinning in my new get up. I was dressed now in a very long black leather jacket that clung to my form but somehow managed to blow in the wind where it loosened out at the waist; tight dark grey pants that flared out at the ankles; and a black t-shirt with a shiny belt around the waist, showing off my very small hourglass. It was one of my favorite outfits. Finally, I paired that with a pair of black high-heeled boots, clicking my heels smartly on the stone floor. I liked the sound quite a bit.

When I was done staring at myself in the mirror like a teenage girl, I was about ready to turn and walk out of my room when…what should I hear but: “Oh shit, what’s in the bucket?”

Pedobear was back.

I grabbed my sword, and ran down to the living room, yelling a war cry—it came out like a garbled grunt, but either way it was war like, and I choose to stick by my very non-threatening self. I ran right into the basement, and swung my sword, only to ram right into the paw of the thing I was trying to kill.

Pedobear stared at me with his big black eyes, and said in a weirdly squeaky voice, “You’re too old for me!”

With that proclamation, he turned around and walked away, heading up the stairs on his way to the front door, leaving me, an incredibly confused girl, behind to stare after him.

When I was sure he was gone, I sat down on the couch again and just started drinking, wishing there was alcohol in this world. Unfortunately, there was no way to get drunk, and so I was left sitting on the couch drinking milk like a four year old.

Finally, I manage to calm down enough to head outside, and walk around my property, examining the world.

It truly was just as beautiful as I had imagined it. Even though the entire world was still blocks, I loved it nonetheless. It more than felt like home to me. Smiling, I headed down to the lake, deciding I would take a bath. Looking around carefully, I stripped down and quickly flat-out ran into the cool water, swimming out nice and deep. I’d been unable to find a swimsuit, but it didn’t really matter. Unless a new random character decided to show up—or, even worse, if Pedobear decided he was planning on liking me older—I should be good.

I swam through the lake, diving down as deep as I could, running my hands across the blocks of sand curiously. They were in block form, and the sand felt…all stuck together. I couldn’t separate the grains of sand from one another. They definitely seemed to like staying in block shape.

I swam back up for air eventually, looking all around. It was going to get dark soon, so I quickly doggy paddled my way back to the shore. Yes, I do doggy paddle. It’s pretty much the only way I knew how to swim. My dad was incredibly artistic and my mom came from a ridiculously rich family, but for unknown reasons they never seemed to find the time to send me to swimming lessons….

That probably tells you quite a bit about the kind of family I come from. I do love my family quite a bit, but….We weren’t entirely functional. I guess that more than explains why I’m so glad to have found myself here, in this lovely place.

Smiling to myself, I climbed out of the water, got dressed, and….

Woke up in bed.

I stared around at myself—at the massive pile of parcels, at the things scattered all around me. I looked down, and sure enough, there was cloud a’curled on my boobs. Deciding it had all been a dream, I petted the kitty, smiling at how she mewled when she woke up. She was so very cute….I petted her lovingly, and she quietly nuzzled into my palm.

Thinking it was time I got moving, I glanced over at the clock. It read: 8:00 a.m.

And, unless I was mistaken, school started in five minutes….And I was a twenty minute bus ride away. I won’t bore you with the incredible round of curses that followed that discovery. There was absolutely no way I would be able to get to school.

Well….Would that really be a bad thing? It meant I’d have some time to catch up on my graph making, and maybe even some extra time to figure out what that memory stick contained. Grinning with plans of wasted time and hilarity, I got to my feet, and knocked over absolutely everything that lay on the bed beside me.

In response to the almost absurdly loud crash that followed, poor little Cloud got up off the bed and scampered out of the room like the devil was after, her entire fluffiness extra fluffed with fear. Feeling more guilty than I had ever felt in my life—more guilty than I felt when I forgot my dad was taking the shower and ran the dishwasher, or when I lied to my friend about the homework just so he’d get in trouble—I ran after the cat. I probably scared her more than the noise did, but I didn’t want to let that little thing out of my sight, for fear of her getting hurt or lost in such a big environment. Biting my lip and hoping the little fiend wasn’t too much faster than me, I ran down the steps.

I reached the fourth landing when  something horrific happened….

My left foot hit something soft and fluffy, and I fell forward, rolling down the stairs.

~~For Love of Minecraftia: Chapter Two--The Melted Cake~~

My mom saw when I realized what day it was. I started upright, staring at her blankly when I mouthed the words: “I’m fifteen now?”

My mom, always having been gifted with reading lips, nodded at me. “You didn’t remember?”

I slowly shook my head. Numbly, I turned and shut down my computer, making sure to save my game first. I’d gotten pretty far into my new home—the first floor had been dug out from a hill overlooking the valley, but I’d yet to dig out any more. Chances were the first floor I had dug would be the first, the rest of the rooms entirely underground, connecting to a complicated series of furnished tunnels I’d been working on for the past month. I had yet to plan anything much though.

My mom sighed, seeing the glazed look come over my eyes again. “You’re playing that game too much, Mitchie,” she said softly, looking worried. “You come home every night and do your homework in a flash, and then off you are to that world of mines and pickaxes. I really don’t understand it. When was the last time you saw your friends?”

I blinked, and said slowly, “Friends?”

“That nice girl you told me about. What was her name again? She had red hair, I think. She sits beside you in English, right?”

“She…does?” I didn’t remember. When I wasn’t paying attention to the teacher (to the best of my abilities) I was busy mapping out my creations and world. I had sheet upon sheet of graph paper where I had sketched my world, spending hour upon hour experimenting with different designs until I could find the right ones that matched the world I had. I didn’t really remember much of school, despite how annoying it was that I would occasionally need to stop my art work for class work, among other things.

My mom sighed, looking at me. “You don’t remember? A few weeks ago you were so excited that you’d made a friend, and now you don’t even remember she exists….Mitchie, I’m….I’m worried about you.”

“Why would you be worried about me? It’s not like I have any real problem. I just don’t pay much attention these days,” I tell her, frowning. God, I hated it when parents got like this—looking into your life like they had any real idea what was going through your head when they so obviously didn’t. They couldn’t possibly remember what it was like to be a kid—all the habits, the fights, the weird memory slips….They really didn’t have a clue.

As always, my mother was not privy to my inner dialogue, and so she said with an almost defeated sigh, “You do pay attention though, and that’s the problem. You don’t pay attention to the right things. All you ever seem to do is play on that computer of yours. I don’t understand it, Mitchie. I’ve never seen you like this before. All you ever do is just play and play and play. Your father and I hear you play till very, very late, and even on school nights you never seem to sleep. You have such dark circles under your eyes these days….And you’re skinny, too. When was the last time you ate?”

I shrugged. I didn’t even know.

That was the last straw for my mom. She stared at me, shook her head, and said simply, “Come downstairs. We’ll give you your cake. Then you can go back up here, unplug your computer, and give it to me. You can use the family computer for school work, but otherwise I don’t want you playing that game anymore. You spend way too much time. Get your butt downstairs, now.”

I stared at her, swallowed, and went downstairs. There, on the table, stood an icecream cake, half melted. I started crying when I saw it because it was covered in icing. Icing in the design of a creeper head.

My dad stood beside it. He smiled vaguely at me. “Hey, Mitchie Rich. How’s my birthday girl doing?”

“I’m okay Dad….Just shocked I forgot what today was,” I reply vaguely, looking at him with a bit of nervousness in my face.

He laughs. “I was the same when you were younger, kiddo. I used to get so caught up in my paintings I’d forget what year it was for a while. You’re better than I was when I was your age. Your mom worries though—you need to keep your grades up, okay, kiddo?”

I nod at him, sighing. “I’ll try dad, I’ll try.”

He shakes his head at my noncommittal reply, “No, you won’t try kid. You will. Mitchie, if I hadn’t spent so much time painting when I was younger maybe I’d have gotten a better job than I did. I don’t want you to wind up like me, kiddo.”

“But your management job at the store is good, right?” I reply, looking up at him. What did he mean? I thought it was so cool that he got to manage a store of his own, even if it wasn’t doing that great.

He shakes his head, giving a sigh. “I had bigger dreams than this….I wanted to own an art studio in New York, you know. But I could never pay for it, and none of my paintings have never sold enough.”

“Maybe that’s because you quit painting last year?”

“I quit painting because I needed to work more. I was never cut out to be a painter, much as I wish things were different. But…..Maybe you’ll be cut out to be something, right? You’ve got my gift with colours and creativity, but you have what I never had: Your mother’s brains.” With that, he ruffled my hair, mussing up the short bed-head look I’d been cultivating. I whack him, rolling my eyes. He simply laughs at me, and says, “Come on kiddo, let’s get some cake.”

A few hours later, once we were done eating, he smiled at me. My mom was next to me, sipping at her cup of tea calmly. She didn’t notice anything going on, and my dad, seeing that, reached into his pocket and made a weird swinging motion with his arm, as if throwing something.

Less than a second later, something landed in my lap. I reached down, and touched something rectangular, made of cool metal.

It was a memory stick.

I raised my eyebrows at him curiously, and he grinned, sending me a wink. I nodded excitedly, and he put a single finger to his lips, indicating silence. I nodded, slipping the precious thing into my pocket, vowing to investigate it tomorrow at school.

When my mother finished her tea a little while later, she nodded to me, and said, “Time for your presents.” With that little announcement, she stood up, and walked smartly out of the room.

Dad rolled his eyes at me, stood up, and took the plates out to the kitchen. “Come on Mitchie, let’s go get your gifts. Your mother is just worried about you, so please….Don’t let it bother you, kiddo.”

I shrug. I wasn’t going to let it bother me—my mom and I had never been the best of pairs. Ever since I set fire to my Barbie doll in grade five, she’s kind of just been ignoring me every chance she gets. However, my dad and I had always been good together.

In fact, he’d been the one to give me the matches when I told him that I wanted to kill the Barbie doll with fire.

My mom doesn’t know that part of the story, though. She just thought I managed to make a fire myself, make a stand, and tie Barbie to a stick myself, naked, her clothes also bound to the stick.

My mom sent me to therapy after that….

But that was years ago, and the therapist swore that I was sane.

Unless I had somehow gone overly crazy in the past two years since my last therapy session, my obsession with Minecraft was actually kind of healthy. Wasn’t it good to have a hobby? Something you really did care about? I hoped it was good, because otherwise I had a really bad problem on my hands…..

I followed my dad out of the dining room, heading across the carpeted hall towards the living room. The soft carpet felt good on my toes and feet—how long had it been sine I’d really felt this? When was the last time I came out of my room?

I really didn’t know. Sighing, I walked into the dining room, blinking at the brightly glowing lights of the chandelier that dangles high overhead. I looked over at the wallpaper that coats the wooden walls, sighing as always at the horrific color combinations. Bright lime green wallpaper and dark wood? Not exactly the best idea that I had ever seen…

My mom sat at the large round table that completely dominated the entire circular room. It was ornate, a solid black marble in color, and it fit close to twenty people, depending on how good friends the occupants of it were. My dad would occasionally joke that we were the Knights of the Black Order, because of the shape and color of it. The table had been my mom’s idea, so she didn’t really appreciate the criticism of her table, but she couldn’t deny that it was maybe a bit on the overly humongously gargantuan size. Only around two feet of open space existed around the table—and, trust me, that was so not enough when my cousin Jessica came over. She was easily two feet thick herself….

But don’t ever tell anyone in my family that I said that. My dad would probably laugh his ass off, but my mom….She’d probably do worse than just ground me from my laptop.

She’d probably take my folder of blueprints, too.

And that folder of blueprints meant more to me than I doubted she would ever really understand. It meant the world to me—it was what I did at school, my dreams, my hopes, my diary. The sculpture of a broken heart that was sixty four blocks in height and around thirty across at its widest point was made after I had been bullied for being a gamer chick. The massive star shaped creation with my name dug out into it was my desire to be known by the world. The huge castle that covered the entire horizon for miles was my dream home—the only thing I could ever want to live in, where I was safest, where I was happiest.

The creations in those blue prints, while many had not even been built yet, had taken me countless hours of work to make them PERFECT, and then even more to clean up all the copies of the blue prints. I could no longer count how many sheets of graph paper had been eaten up by my incredible drive to be the very best I could be at everything I made.

I wish she’d understand how much this game means to me, I thought to myself as I took my seat at the table a few chairs to the left. I wish she’d see it’s what I always want to do.

But the chances of her ever understanding that? They were probably somewhere between negative ninety-eight and zero. I didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell that she would ever comprehend the kind of freedom Minecraft gave me.

My dad had already seated himself, across from me. He shoots me a cheery grin, rolling his eyes around in his head, trying to provoke a laugh from me. He can obviously guess my thoughts from my face. I sigh, and give in, shooting him a miniscule, but still there, smile right back. At that, he grins even wider, and reaches under the table.

A minute later, a massive pile of parcels has been deposited on the table. I stare for a few moments at the sheer size of it—one of the gifts I could not believe that it had fit under the table, hidden by the white lace table cloth. It was a crate around two feet long by too feet tall, and there seemed to be…something moving inside it.

Curiously, I looked at my parents, but they didn’t really say anything in response except urge me to open it—my dad with eagerness, my mom with boredom. Biting my lip, I stood up and pulled it over close to me, opening it carefully. I had absolutely no idea what could be in it, but the second I opened it, all my breath just came out of my mouth with a gasp.

It was the most adorable cat that I have ever seen. I stared at the fluffiness, my mouth open insanely wide. It had massive fluffy ears, and it was a pure solid white, the fur looking like it was almost longer than the small cat. Unable to contain myself, I reached in, and touched the soft silken fur. The cat meowed softly in response, squirming at my caress, looking up at me with its big blue eyes. I whispered as I petted it, “What’s its name?”

“She hasn’t been named yet, Mitchie. You can choose a name—she’s yours, kiddo,” my dad told me. “You’ll need to feed her and all though.”

I nodded absentmindedly, staring at the fluffiness that was my new cat. I reached into the box with both hands, picked her up, and cuddled her against my hoodie.

My mom letting out a sharp inhale of breath stopped me for a second. “Mitchie, are you sure you should be doing that? That hoodie of yours was quite expensive, and it’s also black. You really shouldn’t cuddle a white cat with a black hoodie on.”

I sighed, nodding. I knew she was right, but….It’s not like I could leave such a fluffy little thing uncuddled. I stared at the cat for a few moments, holding her out in front of me, cradled gently in my arms. She wasn’t struggling—in fact, she seemed a lot calmer than any other cat that I had ever had the pleasure to handle. I thought for a few moments, trying to fit a name to the adorable blob of fluff and fuzz that was the cat.

Nikita? No….It’s too…adult for this fluff. Emerald? Her eyes aren’t the right color…..So what should I name her?

I stayed there frozen for a while until my dad said with a laugh, “Mitchie Rich, earth to kiddo! Wake up, your head’s in the clouds.”

I couldn’t help myself: I almost dropped the cat from laughing so hard. Tears were rolling down my face, I was gasping for breath, and after a few seconds all sounds stopped coming from my mouth.

My parents just plain stared at me, trying to make sense of the crazed mess that had come out of their already insanely obsessed daughter.

When I finally calmed, I stammered between gasps for breath, setting down the little fluffy ball: “That’s…her name. Cloud.”

And so she was named.

Cloud meowed at me, as if in recognition, slowly blinking her big cat eyes at me, her large downy tail flicking back and forth as if she was hunting for something. I smiled at her, and ruffled her hair, before sliding off my hoodie, trying not to shiver in my thin white t-shirt and jeans. “W-we need to get the furnaces on soon,” I muttered, my teeth chattering too much to speak very well, “This November is colder than normal.”

My dad shrugged, and nodded, “That it is. I wish it would get warmer—all these stone floors take forever to warm up, and by the time there’s actually any real heat in them it’s night time again. I wonder, should we head out for a trip sometime? Be…what’s the term…? Snowbirds.”

“That would be a great idea! Where should we go this year? We went to California a few years ago—should we go there again, or head somewhere else this year?” My mom asked, completely disregarding the fact that I was now midway through opening another gift, one that came from her.

Keeping a poker face, I peeled off the last of the wrapping, and opened the box. For the second time today, my mouth hit the ground, for what was it that I saw but a large pad of graph paper, with a new and better folder.

I stared at it for a second, before raising my head and staring at my mom. She smiled at me, and said softly, “I know you’ve been going through a lot of graph paper, and I also saw how used that folder of yours was getting. Happy birthday, sweetie.”

I couldn’t help myself—I stood up, walked around the table, and hugged her really tightly. She hugged me back, laughing now. I grinned at her. “Thanks mom….This means a lot to me.”

My mom smiles at me. “I know, sweetheart, I know. I also know that you really need some time away from Minecraft. You’ve barely come out of your room since you got that game.”

I sigh, and nod. “I know mom, I know….I just….I really can’t explain how much this game means to me. I don’t even really understand it myself.”

“What’s so good about that game anyways, kiddo?” my dad breaks in. “It’s so…sterile somehow, and block-y.”

I looked over at my dad. So not even my artistic father saw how beautiful Minecraft truly could be. There was something intensely sad about that….

Sighing, I moved on to the other gifts, but none of the others truly matched the incredible meaning of the one my mother had given me. Still, it was a pretty good birthday—a lot of jewelry, a handful of games from my dad that he probably knew I wouldn’t touch for a very long time, and more socks than I knew what to do with from my mom.

Finally, with more than a little difficulty, I loaded up a large gift bag with my things, and put Cloud on top of it, securely wrapped in a soft blanket my dad had given me. The little puffball looked up at me, purring. I carried her up the cold stairs, grateful for the thick purple and black socks my mom had given me. They kept my feet from freezing solid, which was always a good thing.

I found myself in my room, staring all around at it. It was far from plain—my father and I had painted rolling hills and forests all around it, and being anywhere in my room was like living inside a painting. It was extraordinarily beautiful—even the ceiling was painted; half night sky dotted with stars and half day dotted with pure white fluffy clouds. I smiled, picking Cloud up in my hands and raising her into the air, listening to the little thing mewl in protest, her big eyes looking down at me. I bring her to me, kissing her on the forehead, holding her under her arms in my right carefully, supporting her weight with my left hand so she wouldn’t get hurt at all. She seemed to calm at the kiss on her forehead, and I couldn’t help but grin down at her. She was so cute!

And she happened to perfectly blend in with the clouds on the sky of my room.

I definitely had named her well.

Lovingly, I hugged Cloud to my chest, petting her until she purred. We stayed like that for a while, my arms holding her while my hands toyed with her soft fur, her blue eyes shut in calmness, her body rumbling with purrs. The peaceful moment was eventually broken when my mom came in, her eyebrows raised. “Can you help me take your computer downstairs now, Mitchie?”

I sighed, nodding, plopping my cute ball of fluff and fur back on the blue-covered bed. Cloud mewed in protest, before wandering around the bed, using her claws to tug the blankets into a suitable nest for her. My mom and I couldn’t help watching her play.

Eventually, my mom tapped me on the shoulder, and together we started to unplug the surprisingly small monstrosity that was my high-tech computer. I wrapped up the cord around it, and picked it up, staggering down the steps after her. I felt like my arms were breaking, but I knew how important this computer was—if it breaks, I lose every part of my Minecraft world. And that could definitely not happen.

Finally, I manage to make my way to the study a floor down and down the entirety of an extremely long hallway. My mom manages to push past me and open the door, helping me carry it to the desk where it would stay until I was no longer grounded. After that, my mom followed me back to my room, presumably to see exactly how her one and only daughter was planning to survive her punishment.

“What am I going to do now?” I say quietly, mainly to myself.

“Why don’t you go and play outside for a while? Get some sunlight—you’re pretty pale.”

“But, mom, it’s cold….I don’t want to go outside when it’s cold,” I told her, “Can’t I go outside when it’s warmer?”

My mom sighed, and shrugged. She didn’t reply, seeming to be deep in thought. Eventually, she just says, “You have a point, Mitchie. I just want you to have some fun outside of the game for a while. It’s partly why I’m so glad your father suggested we go on a trip sometime soon—he always was a very bright man. I’m definitely quite glad I chose to marry him.”

“Chose to marry me? I thought you married me because you were p—“ my dad says from the hallway, stopping his speech when my mom shoots him a death glare.

I look between them for a few seconds, feeling more than a little confused—and wondering how far out of the loop I actually was. I didn’t know very much about my parents’ love lives—and I was pretty much keen on leaving that the same way for the rest of my life. I could care less about what my parents did when no one else was around—but there was something I was now wondering about…..What was my dad going to say about why my parents got together? It sounded like they were going to say preg—

“I’m a bastard?”

It takes me a minute to realize I was the one who had just said that. My parents stared at me, before staring at each other. With that awkward sentence, both my parents slowly turned and walked out of the room—one of the very few synchronized connected moments I had ever seen them do. Out in the hall, I heard them talking among themselves as they practically sprinted from my room.

Well….Now that I found myself alone, I might as well start work on continuing my blue prints. What should I make next? I had been tinkering with the plans for a massive maze—several floors high, all done in every material imaginable. I knew it would be impossible to get all of the materials for a long while, it would still definitely give me something to work towards. And a dream to chase.

I had always loved having dreams to chase….Ever since I was younger, I had crazy plans that flooded my head and ran through my mind. I would spend hours fully obsessed with my creations—whether they were drawings or paintings or even some poetry. Of course, that was all before the arrival of Minecraft and the addiction and obsession that followed almost automatically. Up until now, my obsessions tended to bounce from one to another within days—I had never, and I mean never, been so obsessed with one thing for so long.

Maybe that was why my mom was so startled by the strength of which I was obsessed with this game? It had no predecessors before, and it likely would have no way of ending unless something huge happened. I and my family had undergone many of smaller obsessions before—things that definitely paled in comparison when you so much as caught a glimpse of the folder I now held in my hands. It was filled to bursting with sheet upon sheet of “organized,” graph paper, each sheet painstakingly sketched and labeled with many symbols to show different materials, and each sheet accompanied by a Master List of materials needed for each creation. Diagrams of the three-dimensional creations, made with painstaking patience and a large amount of time spent with a headache, were scattered among it as well.

I was officially obsessed, and obsessed with something that I doubted I would ever get over. I was planning on continuing with my Minecraft world until the day I died, and if someone even put an estimate on how long it would take to make the creations I had already drawn and planned, I wouldn’t be surprised if it would take hundreds of hours to get anywhere close to finishing this thing. But…..I somehow knew it would be worth it. I loved this game more than anything else in the world, and I personally could not believe spending my time any other way than this.

Sighing, I plopped myself on the bed, and eyed the random pile of parcels that lined my bed.  Now what was I going to do? It was not actually like I could sleep here with this mountain of things, nor could I get comfortable. Shrugging, I pulled out my cell and opened it up to the Minecraft forum, looking at all the scattered pictures of Minecraft creations.

A few hours later, my phone died, and I was left in the bed with nothing to do. Standing up, I almost stepped on something extremely soft and fluffy. Gasping in shock, I fell back on the bed, staring at the little ball of fluff that now gazed up at me with massive blue eyes. “I’m so sorry, Cloud!” I yell, picking up the kitten and hugging her tightly to me.

The cat meows sleepily at me, seemingly not noticing how close the poor thing had come to becoming a very fluffy pancake. I sighed, petting her gently, feeling how soft her fur was with a smile. Cloud purred at me, nuzzling into my chest. Wanting to make my new pet as comfortable as possible, I climbed into the bed as best as I could and lay down, curling up with my little kitten. Cloud nuzzled into my small breasts, proceeding to use them as pillows and falling asleep in them. I petted her, smiling softly to myself, not minding how comfortable she seemed to find me.

I had only lain there for a few moments when I drifted off into sleep, a sleep that would start me on the craziest journey I would ever take….

Into the world of Minecraftia.

~~For Love of Minecraftia: Chapter One--The First Sheltered World~~

Entry Note--I apologize ahead of time for the quality of this story. It was my very very first attempt at a long story, and so it was not terribly successful. But have it.

I had always loved Minecraft. Ever since it first came out, I had loved it with all my heart. The blocks. The square sun. I’d been with the game since the very beginning—I was one of the first who ever bought the first version of it. And how many versions there had been!

Mojang had turned out countless versions, updates—bugs I’d grown to live with suddenly disappeared, as well as things I thought he’d intended to keep. My world expanded, my creations got better and bigger, and I never stopped playing it, not even for a single moment.

Minecraft was addictive. Complete and utter freedom. You could do whatever you wanted, make whatever you wanted, and no one could ever be there to stop you. You were alone, forever alone, but you had pigs and things so did you really care? Probably not.

Many people never saw the beauty that is in Minecraft. Many people, including me at the beginning, never got anywhere close to looking past the blocks and little cubes that make up the world to seeing how beautiful they can be. Blocks, as simple as they are, are used to create things that are very beautiful. Are bracelets beautiful, when they are made up of only beads? And are not the beads very simple things to look at in the beginning?

They are indeed very simple. There is never very much variation in beads, even the expensive ones. I never liked working with beads—to be fully honest, I always found them quite boring. My mom used to order me to make her bracelets, because even though I hated beads, mine always seemed to be a good deal better than any of the bracelets she turned out. My color sense was probably why she was so adamant about me making those bracelets—I had always seemed to have an affinity for knowing exactly what goes where and when and how it connects there. Besides, my fingers were very long and could be incredibly graceful (when I wasn’t accidentally poking myself in the eye.)

I was so not the best daughter for her. She wanted someone who loved pretty things like beads and playing games that involve Barbies. I could never give that to her. When all the girls in my kindergarten class were showing off their blond bimbos, I was playing with blocks, making things that got bigger and bigger. The teacher always tried to get me to join the girls though—she’d offer me candies, or even put me in the corner for a time-out if I didn’t spend at least a little time as a normal girl would.

I guess that’s why my mom tends to be more careful with the kind of things I can play with. The most creative toys she ever bought me were those scratching things with the pretty paper underneath. I hated those, even though I did play with them occasionally, just to see if the colors really were as pretty as I thought they were. They never ended up right though—the people who made them obviously lacked the skill with colors that I had gotten.

Where had I gotten it? From my father, of course. He had always been the artistic one. He’d been the one who showed me Minecraft, only three days after it had came out a year or so ago. He’d showed me the most amazing world I would ever know, and the very first place I would love with everything I was. Minecraft was my home from the very first second I finished my first shelter, stood back, and stared up at its plain wooden outside and interior, and thought: I can do better.

And so I did better. I started work on a new house right then, wandering further and further away from my shelter to try and find out where would be the most beautiful place to live. I looked for weeks on end, trying to find somewhere that spoke to me and called out the part of me that recognizes and craves things beautiful and perfect.

After dinner one night, I found it. I walked over a massive hill, bouncing down the blocks, focusing my energies on not dying from fall damage. When I hit the bottom, I looked around me, and if Minecraft characters could fall over from shock mine would have.

I had found it.

I had found the beauty.

And it was so very perfect….

It was a network of stone and dirt archways all around a central valley, with a large pool of water in the very centre. I stood on the bottom of one of the hills, only a few steps from the shadow of an arch, dumbfounded. Trees surrounded the lake, not disguising the beauty but simply adding to the naturalness, stretching tall and proud and massive. I walked towards one of those trees, too deep in meditation to sprint forwards like I normally would have done. I bit my lip as I guided my character slowly towards the lake, and turned them all around, staring at the beauty.

The archways on every side stretched tall and proud, and every last one of the eight of them was almost perfectly curved, balanced impeccably. The colors of this place were the colors of Minecraft, in all their plain beauty. Up above me, the clouds rolled across the sky, never obscuring the beautiful sun. I swallowed, smiled, and decided that I would never find anywhere better to live.

And so here I remained forever, flourishing in my home.

I was very careful about my home though. It never stretched close enough to the lake to ever disturb the natural beauty, and none of the materials used in my home were from this place. I couldn’t bear to chop down one of the trees that continued to grow, massive and proud. I couldn’t bear to dig into one of the rolling hills and steep cliffs that surrounded the circular valley I had found myself in. I couldn’t bear disturbing anything here.

I had never loved a place so much in my life.

I took screenshots of the most amazing parts of it—building nerd poles as high as the arches near the lake just so I can get the best aerial views, scrambling through the trees to try and find the best view of them I could. The pictures I printed off and hung around my room, reminding myself of my home when I couldn’t be home.

One day, my mom came into my room and asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner with them. I’d been playing for a while now—around six hours had passed since I’d gotten home from school. It was around nine p.m., according to the clock. I blinked up at her, still moving my character forwards along the archway I was wandering across. “Isn’t it a little late for dinner?”

She nods, and crosses her arms over her chest. “It is late. We’ve been waiting for you to come out of your room for two hours now. Don’t you remember me coming in earlier?”

I blinked, trying to resurrect my mind from the vivid colours and incredible world of Minecraftia. “Erm….No?” I said, unable to find the memory.

My mom sighs, and I see how well dressed she is. Above all, I see the large party hat planted on her head. I hear the sound of my family in the basement, talking and watching TV.

And I realize something.

It was my birthday today.
